MTN Eswatini has launched the 5th Edition MTN-SEDCO Cija Ngebhizinisi radio programme worth E200 000.
This was announced by the MTN Foundation Board Chairperson, Busisiwe Simelane during the programme launch at the MTN headquarters yesterday.
The chairperson said the MTN Foundation’s investment towards Cija Ngebhizinisi since its inception was E900 000 and an additional E200 000 towards the 2022 edition was announced yesterday.
“We strongly believe that the programme will fuel the country’s entrepreneurship by enabling young and smart entrepreneurs to kick off their projects,” she said.
She said the objective of Cija Ngebhizinisi was to develop entrepreneurial literacy across the nation and was the reason the MTN Foundation decided to partner with SEDCO.
Role
She stated that their aim was to play a role in job creation among the youth, hence they could not be left out of being a part of such an impactful programme.
“What we also love about Cija Ngebhizinisi is the wide reach of the programme because it runs on radio allowing us the rare opportunity to engage the whole nation,”?she said.
She said through Cija Ngebhizinisi they were sowing the entrepreneurial seed even among individuals who had not considered this route as a means of making a living.
“We are pleased to note that about 150 000 people were reached within the four years through platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and call-ins,” she said. She added that the inspiring testimonies shared by the program beneficiaries were humbling and were a sure sign that this partnership was bearing fruits, changing the lives of young entrepreneurs.
“One hopes that an equal number of businesses will eventually be borne through this programme and we strongly believe that the programme will fuel Eswatini’s entrepreneurship by enabling young and smart entrepreneurs to kick off their projects,” she said.
